Children’s Event at Blackburn Library
On our last morning, Jo visited Blackburn library and spent an hour with children from three local primary schools. Cakes and juice were provided for all, and over the tea party the children, all in fancy dress for World Book Day, asked Jo all manner of funny and clever questions about her books and childhood. The crowning moment came when Jo and all one hundred children released balloons in the town square, to mark the day and to celebrate the importance of books and reading for young people.
